Las Posadas

Las Posadas means "the inns"or "the shelters "in Spanish. A religious and social celebration that takes place for nine night. From Decemder 16th to 24th , the holidays known as Las Posadas commemorate Joseph and Mary's journey to Bethlehem and their searen for shelter prior to the birth of christ. Las Posadas is a reenactmen of this difficult journey. It is a elaborate preparation for La Navidad (Christmas) in Mexico and some Central American Coutries. This tradition dates back to the sisteenth century and st. Lgnatius Loyola , who used and Aztec festival to teach about the birth of Christ.
